In the field of chalcogenide-based materials and devices, we are seeking an experienced physicist, material scientist or chemist to work on nanofilm/2D material fabrication and device integration.

39 h 50 min (100%, part-time employment is possible)

Your main tasks

You will be fabricating nano-thin/2-dimensional chalcogenides with a particular eye on phase formation. Interface as well as device formation will be key topics, which you will research particularly from an opto-electronic perspective.

To drive this field, we are looking for a dedicated person willing to push things forward and ready to tackle any upcoming hurdles.

Experience in 2D material and device fabrication and characterization is a highly welcome skill.

Your profile

  • An excellent degree (PhD or MSc plus min. 5 years of working experience in the field) in physics, material science, chemistry, energy science, or a closely related field, providing a profound background in material fabrication and characterization as well as in solid-state physics
  • Background knowledge in 2D and/or chalcogenide materials
  • Committed experimentalist skilled in thin film/nanofilm preparation (chemical depositions, ALD or similar)
  • Experience with structural and compositional material investigation (Raman, XRD, AFM) as well as with opto-electronic device characterization (current-voltage, capacitance measurements)
  • Independent working behavior balanced with high-quality team player skills
  • High-quality communication and reporting skills
  • Experience in project work is beneficial
  • Very good speaking and writing abilities in the English language, German language skills are a plus
  • Proven ability of working abroad and/or in Europe
