The Chair of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience (Prof. Katharina von Kriegstein) offers a position as

(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting at a flexible date within the second quarter of 2026. The position is initially limited to 15 months and entails 50% of the full-time weekly hours. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). There is the option of extension and/or increase of weekly hours, subject to the availability of resources. The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.

Our goal: We plan to investigate the cause of hypersensitivity to visual stimuli in autism. We expect that the results will contribute to a better understanding of sensory overload symptoms in autism. The project is funded by the Hans and Ria Messer Foundation (https://hans-und-ria-messer-stiftung.de).

Tasks:

• scientific research activities
• contact with autism organizations in Germany for participatory research
• independent recruitment of adults with autism
• application of diagnostic instruments in people with and without autism
• collection and processing of clinical data
• supporting people with autism during neuroscientific examinations
• participation in neuroscientific research and publications

Requirements:

• university degree (Master or equivalent) in clinical psychology or a related field. The position could be ideal as a supplementary part-time job during clinical training, for example.
• practical experience with clinical populations (ideally autism spectrum)
• experience in conducting psychological tests
• ability to work independently, in an organized and structured manner
• language skills in German (at least level C2) and English
